Sam-Bong (Kim Young-Chul) opens Chinese restaurant Gahwamansasung. He is cheap and authoritarian to his family. He has a wife and three children: twins Hae-Ryung (Kim So-Yeon) and Man-Ho (Jang In-Sub) and younger sibling Hae-Won (Choi Yoon-So).

Hae-Ryung appears to have a perfect life with her husband Hyun-Ki (Lee Pil-Mo). Her mother-in-law is a successful Korean traditional dress designer. In reality, Hae-Ryung’s life is far from perfect. Her only son died in a car accident 5 years ago. Her husband acts indifferent towards her and her mother-in-law is cruel towards her in private. At that time, Hae-Ryung meets Ji-Gun (Lee Sang-Woo). They become closer as they share common bonds, but Ji-Gun has a secret that he can’t tell Hae-Ryung.

Hae-Ryung’s twin brother Man-Ho is incompetent and childish. He works at his father’s Chinese restaurant with his wife Mi-Soon (Kim Ji-Ho). He relies on Mi-Soon at work and at home. One day, Se-Ri (Yoon Jin-Yi), who worked for Sam-Bong’s restaurant in the past and grew up at the same orphanage as Mi-Soon, appears with a baby son. Se-Ri tells Mi-Soon that the child’s father is Man-Ho.

Youngest sibling Hae-Won works as an editor for a fashion magazine. She does not like her new chief editor Kang-Min (Park Min-Woo), because he gained the position due to his father being the CEO of the company.

Set in the 1920’s, during the Japanese occupation of South Korea, Lee Jung-Chool (Song Kang-Ho) was once a member of the Korean independence movement, but he now works as a police officer for Japan. He receives an order to take down the Korean independence group the Righteous Brotherhood.
Lee Jung-Chool introduces himself to art dealer Kim Woo-Jin (Gong Yoo) and pretends to be interested in his Korean artworks. In actuality, Kim Woo-Jin is the regional leader of the Righteous Brotherhood. Both of these men are well aware of each other’s true identities and intentions, but get closer to each other seeking out more information.
The Righteous Brotherhood learn there are spies within their group and attempt to clamp down on the moles. Soon, the identities of Righteous Brotherhood members are leaked and they flee to Shanghai, China. Meanwhile, Lee Jung-Chool and Japanese police officer Hashimoto (Um Tae-Goo) lead forces to Shanghai, China. There, members of the Righteous Brotherhood decide to acquire explosive for an attack on the Japanese government in Korea.
